What is quaggOS

quaggOS is an advanced OSPF/BGP routing Linux distribution which runs entirely from a bootable media.

Based off the popular routing solution Quagga, quaggOS strips away all the annoyances of setting new system by providing an on-ready OSPF/BGP solution easely accessible.

With a fast boot of 20 seconds on average, quaggOS is the ideal distribution for lab environments and diskless stations. The current milestone of quaggOS is to be a network lab tool.

The philosophy behind quaggOS

quaggOS aims are pretty straigh forward:

1. Small memory footprint
2. Small base root filesystem
3. Fast boot - Average of 20 seconds
4. Enable the use of RIP/OSPF/BGP and functionalities shipped with Quagga
5. No overlaid configuration tools to interface with Zebra - all purely Quagga
6. Edge release of Quagga (Mostly Stable including major patches)
